Daniel Friedman, Guru Dev Legacy TrustDaniel Mark Friedman is the Chairman of the Guru Dev Legacy Trust, established in December 2014 to locate, preserve and publish the oral discourses of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati. Dan's interest in Swami Brahmananda Saraswati was kindled when he learned Transcendental Meditation in 1970. He became a Transcendental Meditation Teacher in 1972 and taught TM at the New York City TM Center. Dan is retired from a 30-year career in banking and is now committed to the mission of the Swami Brahmananda Saraswati Trust. Dan is married, has two grown children and lives in New York City.

Lothar Heggmair, Guru Dev Legacy TrustLothar Heggmair learned Transcendental Meditation as a student in 1963. He received a degree in theoretical physics from Munich University and was a senior executive with BMW until his retirement in 2006. His passion for many years has been studying ancient and modern Indian spiritual traditions especially in comparison with European mystics and philosophers. He finds life and teaching of Guru Dev to be a unique source of inspiration. Lothar lives in Munich, Germany.

Umesh Shrivastava, Guru Dev Legacy TrustUmesh Shrivastava is a member of an Indian family with a long association with Guru Dev. His father was in the Indian army and served as one of the four honor guards assigned to Guru Dev while Guru Dev was the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math. His father, Shri Jugal Kishore ji Shrivastava, was deeply devoted to Guru Dev and, as a result, Umesh’s boyhood years were blessed with many personal meetings with Guru Dev. The Shrivastava family has preserved many of Guru Dev’s discourses and is leading the effort to locate others. Umesh is the retired Professor and Head of Commerce & Management of Durga Mahavidyalaya and is the Organizing Secretary of Shankaracharya Brahmananda Saraswati Seva Sansthan, established in India in 2008. Umesh is married, has three grown children and lives in Raipur, India.


Robert Sanders, Guru Dev Legacy TrustRobert Sanders was taught Transcendental Meditation in 1976 and later became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in Seelisberg, Switzerland. Robert spent fifteen years working full-time in the Transcendental Meditation organization, including serving as the Chairman of the TM Center in Washington, D.C. and as part of a team teaching TM in India. Robert has practiced law in the United States for the past thirty years. He is married, has three grown children and lives in Maryland.

Persons wishing to learn Transcendental Meditation are encouraged to take personal instruction at any one of the hundreds of Transcendental Meditation Centers throughout the world. The Guru Dev Legacy Trust applauds the work of the organizations founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to teach Transcendental Meditation but is not affiliated with any of these organizations and does not speak for them.
